Some things to understand about keys:

  • If you give a key to someone for a short term, they can have a copy made unless you have a HIGH SECURITY RESTRICTED key system.
  • Keys that say “Unlawful to duplicate” or “DO NOT COPY” do not protect you from unauthorized key duplication.
  • High Security Keys protect you by restricting duplication. When a short-term contractor returns a high-security key, you can rest assured that no duplicates have been made — you are the only person in charge of who gets a duplicate of your key.

Key cards and key fobs are used with access control systems.  As technology advances, so does the technology used for illicit purposes.  Read more about Key cards and Readers.
