Some things to understand about keys:
- If you give a key to someone for a short term, they can have a copy made unless you have a HIGH SECURITY RESTRICTED key system.
- Keys that say “Unlawful to duplicate” or “DO NOT COPY” do not protect you from unauthorized key duplication.
- High Security Keys protect you by restricting duplication. When a short-term contractor returns a high-security key, you can rest assured that no duplicates have been made — you are the only person in charge of who gets a duplicate of your key.
